THE GREY HAWK



Once I had a hawk, and a pretty grey hawk

She came and she went at request;

I loved her so well and so very very well

In my bosom she builded her nest, my brave boys

Then I got a bell and tied to her foot

Thinking that she was my own

But she's taken a flight and gone away quite

Une fois, j'ai eu un faucon et un joli faucon gris

Elle est venue et elle est allée à la demande;

Je l'aimais tellement bien et donc très très bien

Dans mon sein, elle a construit son nid, mes braves garçons

Puis j'ai eu une cloche et attachée à son pied

Pensant qu'elle était la mienne

Mais elle a pris l'avion et est partie assez

Et personne ne sait où elle est partie, mes braves garçons

Ensuite, c'est dans les rues que je marche et dans les rues que je cours

Comme quelqu'un qui est troublé dans son esprit

l coqueluche et j'ai hoed et j'ai crié à haute voix

Mais mon petit oiseau que je n'ai pas trouvé, mes braves garçons

Mais mon petit oiseau que je n'ai pas pu trouver.

C'est dans les vertes prairies que je marche

Et dans les vertes prairies que je cours

Et là j'ai espionné mon joli faucon gris

Elle était à côté d'un homme, mes braves garçons

Celui qui l'a eue, alors laissez-le la garder

Et tirer le meilleur parti d'elle, il peut

Que je l'aie ou non

Je vais faucher avec elle de temps en temps, mes braves garçons
