Bob (speaking): Jack and Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. (A lot of water splashes on him.)



(Scene changes to show Bob in ordinary outfit, at Oscar's can.)



Bob (singing): You go to visit Oscar. You knock upon his can.

(Knocks, lid opens and someone says:)



Unidentified voice (speaking): Oscar isn't in!



(Scene changes to Maria and a human baker.)



Maria (singing): You go to see a baker.

He's making custard pies.

You ask if you can have one, and the baker yells:



Baker (holds up a pie): Surprise! (Ready to throw it in her face)



Maria (holds up another pie and throws it in his face first): Surprise!



Chorus: Surprise, surprise, surprise!



(Scene changes to show Bob, wearing Jack and Jill costume.)



Bob (speaking): Mary had a little lamb. Its fleece was white as snow. (A bunch of snow dumps on him.)



(Scene changes to someone who looks out window and sees Grover hanging from a pole.)



Grover: I don't know how I got here.

I'm in for a ... (loses his grip and yells as he falls)

(Scene changes to show Big Bird, sadly walking down Sesame Street.)



Big Bird (singing): Today it is your birthday, you're feeling kind of rotten,

Seems all your friends and relatives - they somehow have forgotten,

You're feeling sad and lonely when, right before your eyes,

All your friends and relatives jump out and yell "SURPRISE!"



Maria: We knew it was your birthday.



Mister Hooper (holding up a sweater): I hope this is your size.



(I don't know the rest, but I'm pretty sure it ends with "Surprise!")

Big Bird: J'ai une petite chanson.

Ce n'est pas très long.

(La scène change pour montrer Bob, vêtu d'un costume de garçon à l'ancienne avec un chapeau de paille.)



Bob (parlant): Jack et Jill sont montés sur la colline pour aller chercher un seau d'eau. (Beaucoup d'eau éclabousse sur lui.)



(La scène change pour montrer Bob en tenue ordinaire, chez Oscar.)



Bob (chant): Tu vas rendre visite à Oscar. Vous frappez sur sa boîte.

(Frappe, le couvercle s'ouvre et quelqu'un dit :)



Voix non identifiée (parlant): Oscar n'est pas là!



(La scène change pour Maria et un boulanger humain.)



Maria (chant): Tu vas voir un boulanger.

Il fait des tartes à la crème.

Vous demandez si vous pouvez en avoir un, et le boulanger crie:



Baker (lève une tarte): Surprise! (Prêt à le lui jeter au visage)



Maria (lève une autre tarte et la jette en premier): Surprise!



Refrain: Surprise, surprise, surprise!



(La scène change pour montrer Bob, portant le costume de Jack et Jill.)



Bob (parlant): Mary avait un petit agneau. Sa toison était blanche comme la neige. (Un tas de décharges de neige sur lui.)



(La scène se transforme en quelqu'un qui regarde par la fenêtre et voit Grover suspendu à un poteau.)



Grover: Je ne sais pas comment je suis arrivé ici.

Je suis dans un ... (perd son emprise et hurle en tombant)

Big Bird (chant): Aujourd'hui c'est ton anniversaire, tu te sens un peu pourri,

Semble tous vos amis et parents - ils ont en quelque sorte oublié,

Vous vous sentez triste et seul quand, juste devant vos yeux,

Tous vos amis et parents sautent et crient "SURPRISE!"



Maria: Nous savions que c'était ton anniversaire.



Monsieur Hooper (levant un pull): J'espère que c'est votre taille.
