Good people all, this Christmas-time,

Consider well and bear in mind

What our good God for us has done

In sending his beloved Son.

With Mary holy we should pray

to God with love this Christmas day;

In Bethlehem upon that morn

There was a blessed Messiah born.



The night before that happy tide,

The noble Virgin and her guide

Were long time seeking up and down

to find a lodging in the town.

But mark how all things came to pass:

>From every door repelled alas!

As long foretold, their refuge all

Was but an humble ox's stall.



There were three wise men from afar

Directed by a glorious star,

And on they wandered night and day

Until they came where Jesus lay.

And when they came unto that place

Where our beloved Messiah was,

they humbly cast them at his feet,

With gifts of gold and incense sweet.



Near Bethlehem did shepherds keep

Their flocks of lambs and feeding sheep;

To whom God's angels did appear,

Which put the shepherds in great fear.

'Prepare and go', the angels said.

'To Bethlehem, be not afraid;

For there you'll find, this happy morn,

A princely babe, sweet Jesus born.



With thankful heart and joyful mind,

The shepherds went the babe to find,

And as God's angel had foretold,

They did our Saviour Christ behold.

Within a manger he was laid,

And by his side the virgin maid,

Attending on the Lord of life,

Who came on earth to end all strife.

Bonnes gens tous, en cette période de Noël,

Réfléchissez bien et gardez à l'esprit

Ce que notre bon Dieu a fait pour nous

En envoyant son Fils bien-aimé.

Avec Marie sainte, nous devons prier

à Dieu avec amour ce jour de Noël;

A Bethléem ce matin

Un Messie béni est né.



La nuit avant cette marée heureuse,

La noble Vierge et son guide

Cherchait longtemps de haut en bas

pour trouver un logement dans la ville.

Mais notez comment tout s'est passé:

> De toutes les portes repoussées hélas!

Depuis longtemps prédit, leur refuge tout

Ce n'était qu'un humble stalle de b?uf.



Il y avait trois sages de loin

Réalisé par une étoile glorieuse,

Et ils ont erré nuit et jour

Jusqu'à ce qu'ils arrivent là où était Jésus.

Et quand ils sont venus à cet endroit

Où était notre bien-aimé Messie,

ils les ont humblement jetés à ses pieds,

Avec des cadeaux d'or et d'encens sucré.



Près de Bethléem, les bergers ont gardé \u003cbr />
Leurs troupeaux d'agneaux et de moutons qui se nourrissent;

À qui les anges de Dieu sont apparus,

Ce qui a mis les bergers dans une grande peur.

"Préparez-vous et partez", ont déclaré les anges.

"À Bethléem, n'ayez pas peur;

Car vous y trouverez, ce matin heureux,

Un bébé princier, doux Jésus né.



Avec un c?ur reconnaissant et un esprit joyeux,

Les bergers sont allés chercher l'enfant,

Et comme l'ange de Dieu l'avait prédit,

Ils ont vu notre Sauveur Christ.

Dans une crèche, il a été étendu,

Et à ses côtés la vierge vierge,

Participer au Seigneur de la vie,

Qui est venu sur terre pour mettre fin à tous les conflits.
