she was born on the 20th of june

1974, an hour past noon or so

she lived a good life, she was a wife

and a mother (a damn good one too)

so we're gathered here today to pay

(in a way) our respects to a woman about whom i'll say:



here lies a woman who knew right from wrong

here lies a woman who knew all along she would

be somebody in this life. that, she knew

i'll say: here lies a woman loved by all of you



she was brought up the oldest of four

they treated her well but still she always wanted more

daughter of a teacher who later wrote a book or two

and a well-known book editor with eyes of steel blue

she moved to the city (it was always her wish)

and it was there she met the man she spent her life with



here lies a woman who knew right from wrong

here lies a woman who knew all along she would

have a positive effect on those who surrounded her

here lies a woman loved by those around her



well, don't ask why

there's a time and a reason for every life

she hopes not all of you decided to dress

in black 'cause that would just make her depressed



she accomplished a lot while she lived

always wanting to conquer her fears, always wanting to give

what she could, when she could, she was considered good

i think we should live our lives like she would



here lies a woman who knew right from wrong

here lies a woman who knew all long she would

leave her mark on this world. that, she believed, i'll say!

here lies a woman who asks you not to grieve

elle est née le 20 juin

1974, une heure après midi environ

elle a vécu une belle vie, elle était une épouse

et une mère (une sacrément bonne aussi)

nous sommes donc réunis ici aujourd'hui pour payer

(d'une certaine manière) nos respects à une femme à propos de laquelle je dirai:



ici se trouve une femme qui savait le bien du mal

ici se trouve une femme qui savait depuis toujours qu'elle allait

être quelqu'un dans cette vie. ça, elle le savait

je dirai: voici une femme que vous aimez tous



elle a été élevée la plus âgée de quatre

ils l'ont bien traitée mais elle en a toujours voulu plus

fille d'un enseignant qui a écrit plus tard un livre ou deux

et un éditeur de livres bien connu aux yeux bleu acier

elle a déménagé en ville (c'était toujours son souhait)

et c'est là qu'elle a rencontré l'homme avec qui elle a passé sa vie



ici se trouve une femme qui savait le bien du mal

ici se trouve une femme qui savait depuis toujours qu'elle allait

ont un effet positif sur ceux qui l'ont entourée

ici se trouve une femme aimée de son entourage



eh bien, ne demande pas pourquoi

il y a un temps et une raison pour chaque vie

elle espère que vous n'avez pas tous décidé de vous habiller

en noir parce que ça la rendrait déprimée



elle a beaucoup accompli pendant qu'elle vivait

toujours vouloir vaincre ses peurs, toujours vouloir donner

ce qu'elle pouvait, quand elle le pouvait, elle était considérée comme bonne

je pense que nous devrions vivre nos vies comme elle le ferait



ici se trouve une femme qui savait le bien du mal

ici se trouve une femme qui savait depuis longtemps qu'elle le ferait

laissez sa marque sur ce monde. ça, croyait-elle, je dirai!
