so I joined him for a brandy and the talk flowed like honey

we talked about music, and travelling, and kids

then he offered to walk me to the place I was staying

and as we walked I finally asked him what he did

How can he be in the army?

so we walked and I fell silent and he said whats the matter

Et il a en quelque sorte ri et a dit non, ce que je veux dire c'est que je suis un major de l'armée. Et je pensais hein? C'est un homme qui m'a dit qu'il jouait du piano classique; il écoute Paul Simon et Joni Mitchell pour l'amour du ciel; il adore les enfants; il s'est étouffé avec ma chanson plutôt féministe sur ma mère! Comment peut-il être dans l'armée?

nous voulons que ce soit faux ou correct, pas ces nuances de gris



alors nous avons marché et je me suis tue et il a dit quel était le problème

et la lune était haute et dorée et j'aurais aimé ne pas savoir

ses yeux étaient comme l'océan, je pouvais sentir la douce odeur de sel de lui
