Way on the other side of the hudson,

Deep in the bosom of suburbia,

I met a young girl, she sang mighty fine,

Tears on my pillow and ave maria.

Standing by the waterfall in paramus park

She was working for the friends-of-bai

She was collecting quarters in a paper cup.

She was looking for change and so was i.





She was a jewish girl. i fell in love with her.

She wrote her number on the back of my hand.

I called her up, i was all out of breath, i said,

"come hear me play in my rock and roll band.

I took a shower and i put on my best blue jeans.

I picked her up in my new vw van.

She wore a peasant blouse with nothing underneath.

I said, "hi". she said, "yeah, i guess i am."

We had a little time, we were real hungry.

We went to dairy queen for something to eat.

She had some onion rings. she had a pickle.

She forgot to tell me that she didn't eat meat.

I had a gig in the american legion hall.

It was a dance for the volunteer ambulance corp.

She was sitting in a corner against the wall.

She would smile and i melted all over the floor.

I took her home with me. we watched some tv,

Annette funicello and some guy going steady.

I started fooling around with the vertical hold.

We got the munchies and i made some spaghetti.

We sat and we talked into the night,

While channel 2 was signing off the air.

I found the softness of her mouth.

We made love to bombs bursting in arrrrrriel.

Chemin de l'autre côté du Hudson,

Au plus profond de la banlieue,

J'ai rencontré une jeune fille, elle a très bien chanté,

Des larmes sur mon oreiller et ave maria.

Debout près de la cascade du parc paramus

Elle travaillait pour les amis de bai

Elle ramassait des quartiers dans une tasse en papier.

Elle cherchait du changement et moi aussi.





C'était une fille juive. je suis tombé amoureux d'elle.

Elle a écrit son numéro sur le dos de ma main.

Je l'ai appelée, j'étais tout essoufflé, j'ai dit,

"viens m'entendre jouer dans mon groupe de rock and roll.

J'ai pris une douche et j'ai mis mon meilleur jean bleu.

Je l'ai récupérée dans ma nouvelle camionnette vw.

Elle portait un chemisier paysan sans rien dessous.

J'ai dit salut". elle a dit: "Ouais, je suppose que je le suis."

Nous avons eu un peu de temps, nous avions vraiment faim.

Nous sommes allés chez la reine laitière pour quelque chose à manger.

Elle avait des rondelles d'oignon. elle avait un cornichon.

Elle a oublié de me dire qu'elle ne mangeait pas de viande.

J'ai eu un concert dans la salle de la légion américaine.

C'était une danse pour le corps d'ambulance bénévole.

Elle était assise dans un coin contre le mur.

Elle souriait et je fondais partout sur le sol.

Je l'ai ramenée à la maison avec moi. nous avons regardé la télévision,

Annette funicello et un type qui se calme.

J'ai commencé à m'amuser avec la prise verticale.

Nous avons eu les fringales et j'ai fait des spaghettis.

Nous nous sommes assis et nous avons parlé dans la nuit,

Pendant que la chaîne 2 se déconnectait.

J'ai retrouvé la douceur de sa bouche.

Nous avons fait l'amour avec les bombes qui éclatent dans arrrrrriel.
