According To Thy Gracious Word - Christian Prayer

According to Thy gracious word,

In meek humility,

This will I do, my dying Lord,

I will remember Thee.



Thy body, broken for my sake,

My bread from heaven shall be;

The testamental cup I take,

And thus remember Thee.



Gethsemane can I forget?

Or there Thy conflict see,

Thine agony, and bloody sweat,

And not remember Thee?



When to the cross I turn mine eyes,

And rest on Calvary,

O Lamb of God, my sacrifice,

I must remember Thee.



Remember thee and all Thy pains

And all Thy love to me;

Yea, while a breath, a pulse remains,

Will I remember Thee.



And when these failing lips grow dumb

And mind and memory flee,

When Thou shalt in Thy kingdom come,

Jesus, remember me.

Selon votre gracieuse parole,

Avec humilité douce,

C'est ce que je ferai, mon Seigneur mourant,

Je me souviendrai de toi.



Ton corps, brisé pour moi,

Mon pain du ciel sera;

La coupe testamentale que je prends,

Et ainsi souviens-toi de Toi.



Gethsémané puis-je oublier?

Ou là Ton conflit voit,

Ton agonie et ma sueur sanglante,

Et tu ne te souviens pas?



Quand à la croix je tourne les yeux,

Et reposez-vous sur le Calvaire,

O Agneau de Dieu, mon sacrifice,

Je dois me souvenir de toi.



Souviens-toi de toi et de toutes tes douleurs

Et tout ton amour pour moi;

Oui, pendant qu'un souffle, un pouls reste,

Vais-je me souvenir de toi.



Et quand ces lèvres défaillantes deviennent muettes

Et l'esprit et la mémoire s'enfuient,

Quand tu viendras dans ton royaume,

Jésus, souviens-toi de moi.
