I used to love these lazy winter afternoons;

Starting out too late giving up too soon;

Coming home to coffee and a trashy book;

Never paying any mind if things were never done on



Time was when a fella could just let time slip away;

No worries car or telephone just rent and food to pay;

And every night with single buddies boozing at the bar,

Living for the minute, taking every hour in it!



But now there's just too much to do in any given day;

The car phone the kiddies shoes too many bills to pay;

Running from the crack of dawn 'til Knowlton reads the news,

And falling into bed too wiped to even kiss the wife good night.

Oh, oh, oh...just another working Joe.



The baby's in the Swingomatic, singing Rock and Roll;

My Sweetie's in the kitchen, whipping up my favourite casserole.

I knocked off work at ten o'clock, the kids are still at school.

The coffee pot is perking...to hell with bloody working.



Oh, it sure is sweet to sit at home and let time slip away,

Through tomorrow I'll be scratching through another working day;

But when I start to come apart from all the things to do,

I know that I'll be taking soon another lazy winter afternoon.

J'aimais ces après-midi d'hiver paresseux;

Commencer trop tard, abandonner trop tôt;

Rentrer à la maison pour un café et un livre trash
Ne jamais faire attention si les choses n'ont jamais été faites le



Le temps était où un gars pouvait simplement laisser le temps filer;

Pas de soucis de voiture ou de téléphone juste le loyer et la nourriture à payer;

Et tous les soirs avec des copains célibataires qui boivent au bar,

Vivre pour la minute, en prenant chaque heure!



Mais maintenant, il y a trop de choses à faire chaque jour;

Le téléphone de la voiture les chaussures pour enfants trop de factures à payer;

Fuyant l'aube jusqu'à ce que Knowlton lise les nouvelles,

Et tomber dans le lit trop essuyé pour même embrasser la femme bonne nuit.

Oh, oh, oh ... juste un autre Joe qui travaille.



Le bébé est dans le Swingomatic, chante du Rock and Roll;

My Sweetie's in the kitchen, whipping up my favorite cocotte.

J'ai arrêté le travail à dix heures, les enfants sont toujours à l'école.

La cafetière se déroule ... au diable avec un travail sanglant.



Oh, c'est vraiment agréable de s'asseoir à la maison et de laisser le temps filer,

Jusqu'à demain, je vais parcourir une autre journée de travail;

Mais quand je commence à me séparer de toutes les choses à faire,

Je sais que je prendrai bientôt un autre après-midi d'hiver paresseux.
