I put my ear to the ground and I sang with every word.

It was the moment I felt sick, just when I needed it most.
There is not much to explain,
except I found myself blinded by every bit of light.
I felt so safe inside the sight of the sun.
I really think I'm home now, I really think that.
I heard what was a song inside the earth.
I put my ear to the ground and I sang with every word.
I felt a wave so strong, I fell right in it.
It hit so hard and it took my spirit.
Know that I belong to you until I die.
I remember giving this a try...
I screamed so loud, 'cause that's exactly how I felt.
It broke me out, and I gave up all my plans.
I set them down, 'cause I really need to see the sun again.

J'ai écrit une chanson sur la guerre, le genre qui vit dans ta tête.
J'ai trouvé un endroit où je peux m'asseoir, un endroit où la lumière de tous les jours frappe.
Comme la paume de ta main quand tu cherches quelque chose
qui est en boule dans le ciel.
C'est comme ça que j'aime me voir;
atteindre une seule étoile à la fois.
J'ai entendu ce qui était une chanson à l'intérieur de la terre.
J'ai mis l'oreille au sol et j'ai chanté à chaque mot.
Vous voyez, je me suis perdu dans le son.
C'était le moment où je me sentais malade, juste au moment où j'en avais le plus besoin.
Il n'y a pas grand-chose à expliquer,
sauf que je me suis retrouvé aveuglé par chaque morceau de lumière.
Je me sentais tellement en sécurité à la vue du soleil.
Je pense vraiment que je suis chez moi maintenant, je pense vraiment ça.
