The Spot - Residents

A pox upon a chicken or a fight about a bear

Would not be worse that what I've seen

And what I have to wear

It first appeared on my birthday

Beneath an empty cocktail tray

I scrubbed but found to my dismay

A spot that would not go away



I got... the spot



"Oh what the hell" I seemed to say

And laughed a little bit

But when I saw the spot had moved

I nearly had a fit!

A fever froze me in my place

When then I found it on my face

Curdling my blood I screamed

"Be gone or be some heinous dream!"



I got... the spot



Oblong it interacted

With my follicles of hair

And now it grows in magnitude

And sits upon a chair

It sleeps upon my shirt

And smiles at me

When I get hurt

I can't believe that blotch is there!

But still I cover it with care

Une varicelle sur un poulet ou un combat contre un ours

Ce ne serait pas pire que ce que j'ai vu

Et ce que je dois porter

Il est apparu pour la première fois le jour de mon anniversaire

Sous un plateau à cocktail vide

J'ai frotté mais j'ai trouvé ma consternation

Un endroit qui ne s'en irait pas

"Oh putain de quoi", semblais-je dire

Et a ri un peu

Mais quand j'ai vu que l'endroit avait bougé \u003cbr />
J'ai failli avoir une crise!

Une fièvre m'a gelé à ma place

Quand je l'ai trouvé sur mon visage

Caillant mon sang j'ai crié \u003cbr />
"Être parti ou être un rêve odieux!"



J'ai ... la place



Oblong il a interagi

Avec mes follicules de cheveux

Et maintenant ça grandit

Et s'assied sur une chaise

Il dort sur ma chemise

Et me sourit

Quand je me blesse

Je ne peux pas croire que la tache soit là!

Mais je le couvre toujours avec soin
