Above The Treeline - Siberry Jane

I went out with Wolf tonight, I had so many worries on my mind

I was feeling lost, feeling confused, feeling afraid--I wanted to hide

But when I got home after work Wolf would not let me stay inside

So I put on my heavy coat and kerchief and closed the door behind us



I followed Wolf across the road,

he took a trail that leads up through the forest

I saw Wolf's shadow moving through the trees ahead of me

--don't go too fast Wolf

And finally we got to the other side

--it was so still, it was so bright and clear

For there stretched before us

like a ballroom glove in the moonlight lay the snowfields



It was a starry night

And the snow had stopped falling

And I feel that I heard someone singing



Fly us to the moon

High above our upturned faces

Booming in the bright

Send some good things down on this earth tonight



Wolf ran out into the glittering fields

--I stood and watched him from the treeline

The starry heavens danced down on the snow

then up again like gateways gathering

Then somehow I was out there with Wolf

--I stared at him--he looked so different

Oh Wolf I can't stop laughing

but I feel somehow that everything is all right



I don't know how many miles we traced across the snow--maybe a thousand

I followed Wolf in peace and I don't even know if we were breathing

And part of me never went home after that night--I think it stayed there

But it is in good care beneath the stars

above the fields of snow that stretch there

Je suis sorti avec Wolf ce soir, j'avais tellement de soucis en tête

Je me sentais perdu, confus, effrayé - je voulais me cacher

Mais quand je suis rentré chez moi après le travail, Wolf ne me laissait pas rester à l'intérieur

Alors j'ai mis mon gros manteau et mon foulard et j'ai fermé la porte derrière nous



J'ai suivi Wolf à travers la route,

il a pris une piste qui mène à travers la forêt

J'ai vu l'ombre de Wolf se déplacer à travers les arbres devant moi

-ne va pas trop vite Loup

Et finalement nous sommes arrivés de l'autre côté

-il était si immobile, il était si clair et clair

Car là s'étalait devant nous

comme un gant de bal au clair de lune posait les champs de neige



C'était une nuit étoilée

Et la neige avait cessé de tomber

Et je sens que j'ai entendu quelqu'un chanter



Envole-nous vers la lune

Au-dessus de nos visages renversés

En plein essor

Envoyez de bonnes choses sur cette terre ce soir



Le loup s'est enfui dans les champs scintillants

-Je me suis levé et l'ai regardé depuis la limite des arbres

Le ciel étoilé dansait sur la neige

puis à nouveau comme des passerelles rassemblant

Ensuite, j'étais en quelque sorte avec Wolf

- Je l'ai regardé - il avait l'air si différent

Oh loup, je ne peux pas arrêter de rire

mais je sens en quelque sorte que tout va bien



Je ne sais pas combien de kilomètres nous avons parcourus à travers la neige - peut-être mille

J'ai suivi Wolf en paix et je ne sais même pas si nous respirions

Et une partie de moi n'est jamais rentrée chez elle après cette nuit - je pense qu'elle y est restée

Mais il est bien entretenu sous les étoiles

au-dessus des champs de neige qui s'y étendent
