There's a politician talking

On the box again tonight

And I am sure that he is wrong,

Just because he's sure he's right

And he says he'll keep his promises

And I'm afraid he might.

There are candidates debating

In a friendly sort of way,

And each one says the other one

Is leading us astray.

That's the only part that I believe

From all they've got to say.

There's two conventions meeting,

The cigar smoke rising blue,

The pundits are discussing what

The delegates will do,

And I'd like some information

On distinguishing the two.

The pollsters they have polled us

They have asked and taken note,

The winner they can tell us

The statistics they can quote

And I wonder if it's worth the time

To go and cast my vote.

Il y a un politicien qui parle

Sur la boîte encore ce soir

Et je suis sûr qu'il a tort,

Juste parce qu'il est sûr qu'il a raison

Et il dit qu'il tiendra ses promesses

Il y a des candidats qui débattent

D'une manière amicale,

Nous induit en erreur.

C'est la seule partie que je crois

De tout ce qu'ils ont à dire.

Il y a deux réunions de conventions,

La fumée de cigare montait en bleu,

Les experts discutent de ce que

Les délégués feront,

Et je voudrais des informations

Sur la distinction des deux.

Les sondeurs qu'ils nous ont sondés

Ils ont demandé et pris note,

Le gagnant qu'ils peuvent nous dire

Les statistiques qu'ils peuvent citer

Et je me demande si ça vaut le temps

Pour aller voter.
