Galway and Mayo - The Saw Doctors

Hardly anyone had the tele'

It was a different kind of world

Heaven was a game of football

Before I ever kissed the girls

We used to go out driving

We'd travel near and far

Nearly every Sunday in me

Father's oul' ford car

He'd be pointing out the landmarks

Everywhere we'd go, through the

Twistings , turning , winding roads

Of Galway and Mayo



Me mother in the front seat

Children in the back

We'd be imagining Indians in the

Fields waiting to attack

And we'd be asking “ are we nearly there?”

Wearing clothes that came

In a parcel from America,

The two of us the same



He'd be pointing........



There's a stillness in the summer

Air , sheep dog lying in the sun

Three young girls with butterfly nets

Break into a run

Now the time flies by like always

I've got my own boy right now

Like cowboys in the oul' k30

We go and drive around



The land was let go lately

But I take him out that way

I show him where we cut the turf

And where we saved the hay



And I'll be pointing out

Presque personne n'avait la télé '

C'était un monde différent

Le paradis était un match de football

Avant d'embrasser les filles

Nous sortions en voiture

Nous voyagerions de près et de loin

Presque tous les dimanches en moi

Voiture du père oul 'ford

Il montrerait les points de repère

Partout où nous irions, à travers le

Virages, virages, routes sinueuses

De Galway et Mayo



Moi mère sur le siège avant

Enfants dans le dos

Nous imaginerions des Indiens dans le

Champs en attente d'attaque

Et nous demanderions "sommes-nous presque là?\"

Porter des vêtements qui sont venus

Dans un colis d'Amérique,

Nous deux tous les mêmes



Il montrerait ........



Il y a un silence en été

Air, chien de berger couché au soleil

Trois jeunes filles avec des filets à papillons

Pénétrez dans une course

Maintenant le temps passe comme toujours

J'ai mon propre garçon en ce moment

Comme des cowboys dans le oul 'k30

Nous allons nous promener



La terre a été abandonnée récemment

Mais je le sors de cette façon

Je lui montre où on coupe le gazon

Et où nous avons sauvé le foin



Et je soulignerai



Les monuments .........
