Well out in the Chilcotins on Nimpo Lake,

Well Hubby and I, we were paddlin' along,

Thinking to ourselves "Now what can go wrong?"

When silver-grey Lunns with their nine power horse

Started after us on a collision course. (CHORUS)



They had us in a circle we were bouncin' up and down.

They were hootin' and a hollerin' as they went around.

The 'boys' of Nimpo Lake, they like to fish her too.

But they reel in their lines when they see a pink canoe! (CHORUS)



Well someday we may buy us another canoe,

We'll be lookin' at yellow and green

And orange and maybe blue.

But we won't be pickin' out no pink canoe,

'Cause I have seen what those motorboats can do!

Puits dans les Chilcotins sur le lac Nimpo,

Les poissons sautent toujours et le paysage est magnifique.

Eh bien mon mari et moi, nous étions en train de pagayer,

Quand les Lunns gris argent avec leurs neuf chevaux puissants

Ils nous avaient dans un cercle où nous rebondissions de haut en bas.

Ils hululaient et hurlaient en circulant.

Les garçons du lac Nimpo, ils aiment aussi la pêcher.

Mais ils enroulent leurs lignes quand ils voient un canot rose! (CH?UR)



Eh bien, un jour, nous pourrons nous acheter un autre canoë,

Nous regarderons le jaune et le vert

Et orange et peut-être bleu.

Mais nous ne choisirons pas de canoë rose,

Parce que j'ai vu ce que ces bateaux à moteur peuvent faire!
