Brother can you spare me food

And give me a drink of wine,

I've been travelling on this road,

For such a long long time,

I have seen the wonders,

But most amazing of them all,

I believe I've seen the face

Of the Risen Lord;



On a night like this there came

A stranger on the road,

I saw him stumble, heard him fall,

I helped him with his load,

The further that we walked,

Well the heaver it became,

And I believe I've felt the weight

From another world...

Frère, peux-tu m'épargner de la nourriture

Et donne moi un verre de vin,

J'ai voyagé sur cette route,

Pendant si longtemps,

J'ai vu les merveilles,

Je crois avoir vu le visage

Du Seigneur ressuscité;



Une nuit comme ça, il est venu

Un étranger sur la route,

Je l'ai vu trébucher, je l'ai entendu tomber,

Je l'ai aidé avec sa charge,

Plus nous marchions,

Eh bien, le heaver c'est devenu,

Et je crois que j'ai senti le poids
