Mothers and children from long ago,

Mothers and children from far away,

So many of them, being together,

It's always been that way.



Some of them lived in dusty castles,

Some of them lived where monkeys play.

Each of them caring for the other,

Just as they do today.



Sharing a story, playing a game,

Looking alike, well, almost the same.

In cities, and jungles, and deserts, and farms,

See all the mothers with kids in their arms.



In happy times, sad times,

Hungry times, glad times.

There always have been, there always will be

Mothers and children, being together,

Just like you and me.

Mères et enfants d'il y a longtemps,

Mères et enfants de loin,

Beaucoup d'entre eux, étant ensemble,

Il en a toujours été ainsi.



Certains d'entre eux vivaient dans des châteaux poussiéreux,

Certains d'entre eux vivaient là où les singes jouent.

Chacun s'occupant de l'autre,

Tout comme ils le font aujourd'hui.



Partager une histoire, jouer à un jeu,

Se ressemblant, eh bien, presque la même chose.

Dans les villes, les jungles, les déserts et les fermes,

Voir toutes les mères avec des enfants dans leurs bras.



Dans les moments heureux, les temps tristes,

Temps affamés, temps heureux.

Il y en a toujours eu, il y en aura toujours

Mères et enfants, être ensemble,

Comme toi et moi.
