she'd been drinking too much egg nog

and we begged her not to go

but she forgot her medication

and she staggered out the door into the snow



when we found her the Christmas morning

at the scene of the attack

she had hoofprints on her fore head

and incriminating claws marks on her back

now we're all so proud of grandpa

he's been taking this so well

see him in there watching football

drinking beer and playing cards with cousin Nel



its not christmas without grandma

all the family's dressed in black

and we just cant help but wonder

should we open up her gifts or send them back?

that would just have matched the hair in grandmas wig



i've warned all our friends and neighbours

better watch out for yourselves

they should never give a license

to a man who drives a sleigh and plays with elves

on pourrait dire qu'il n'y a rien de tel que le père Noël

mais pour moi et grand-père, nous croyons



elle avait bu trop de lait de poule

et nous l'avons suppliée de ne pas y aller

mais elle a oublié ses médicaments

et elle a chancelé par la porte dans la neige



quand nous l'avons trouvée le matin de Noël

sur les lieux de l'attaque

elle avait des empreintes de sabots sur sa tête avant

et des griffes incriminantes sur son dos

maintenant nous sommes tous si fiers de mon grand-père

il a si bien pris ça

le voir là-bas regarder le football

boire de la bière et jouer aux cartes avec le cousin Nel



ce n'est pas Noël sans grand-mère

toute la famille vêtue de noir

et nous ne pouvons pas nous empêcher de nous demander

devrions-nous ouvrir ses cadeaux ou les renvoyer?
