NARRATOR

Once upon a time,

In a far away land,

A young Prince lived in a shining castle.

Although he had everything his heart desired,

the Prince was spoiled, selfish and unkind.



But then, one winter's night,

an old beggar woman came to the castle

and offered him a single rose

in return for shelter from the bitter cold.



Repulsed by her haggard appearance,

the Prince sneered at the Gift,

and turned the old woman away.



But she warned him not to be deceived by appearances,

for Beauty is found within.

And when he dismissed her again,

the old woman's ugliness melted away to reveal a beautiful enchantress.



The prince tried to apologize,

but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart.

And as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast

and placed a powerful spell on the castle and all who lived there.



Ashamed of his monstrous form,

the Beast concealed himself inside his castle,

with a magic mirror as his only window to the outside world.



The rose she had offered was truly an enchanted rose,

which would bloom unitl his twenty-first year.



If he could learn to love another,

and earn her love in return by the time the last petal fell,

Then the spell would be broken.



If not, he would be doomed to remain a beast for all time.



As the years passed,

he fell into despair and lost all hope,



For who could ever learn to love .... a beast

NARRATEUR

Il était une fois,

Dans un pays lointain,

Un jeune prince vivait dans un château brillant.

Bien qu'il ait tout ce que son c?ur désirait,

le Prince était gâté, égoïste et méchant.



Mais alors, une nuit d'hiver,

une vieille mendiante est venue au château

et lui a offert une seule rose

en échange d'un abri contre le froid glacial.



Repoussée par son apparence hagarde,

le Prince se moqua du cadeau,

et a détourné la vieille femme.



Mais elle l'a averti de ne pas être trompé par les apparences,

pour la beauté se trouve à l'intérieur.

Et quand il l'a renvoyée,

la laideur de la vieille femme s'est dissipée pour révéler une belle enchanteresse.



Le prince a essayé de s'excuser,

mais il était trop tard, car elle avait vu qu'il n'y avait pas d'amour dans son c?ur.

Et comme punition, elle l'a transformé en une bête hideuse

et a jeté un puissant sort sur le château et tous ceux qui y vivaient.



Honte de sa forme monstrueuse,

la Bête s'est cachée à l'intérieur de son château,

avec un miroir magique comme seule fenêtre sur le monde extérieur.



La rose qu'elle avait offerte était vraiment une rose enchantée,

qui fleurirait pendant sa vingt et unième année.



S'il pouvait apprendre à aimer un autre,

et gagner son amour en retour au moment où le dernier pétale est tombé,

Le sort serait alors rompu.



Sinon, il serait condamné à rester une bête pour toujours.



Au fil des ans,

il est tombé dans le désespoir et a perdu tout espoir,



Pour qui pourrait jamais apprendre à aimer ... une bête
