I remember what it felt like at

seventeen:

I was a cat, a snake, a lizard, a mouse.

Still got an interest in the limousine

and a spouse and a brat,

country house, London flat.



I'm gonna head for the island when

the summer's out,

I'm gonna do all the stuff that I can,

drink like a fish in a waterspout -

I'm a fan of the flow

it began long ago

I'm a man who should know

it doesn't stop.



There's so much to remember,

so much to forget:

we're all in the possession of the

future tense, but don't know it yet.

The flesh comes through the spirit,

the spirit through the flesh...

we look the Sphinx in the face

for answers and of course we're

really not impressed.

We're caught between age and beauty,

experience and youth

so we feel the need acutely

for any kind of Truth.



Oh but we get copped some days,

caught between options we've failed

to play, such wasted chance.

So I join the wastrel's dance:

it has slow as well as fast movement

and any change must be an

improvement on simply fossilising,

standing still.



I got a steady vocation for

the Quiet Zone,

I just can't wait for the song to be sung,

I'm still possessed by the promise

of the Pleasure Dome

Je me souviens de ce que ça faisait à \u003cbr />
dix-sept:

J'étais un chat, un serpent, un lézard, une souris.

Toujours intéressé par la limousine

et un conjoint et un gamin,

maison de campagne, appartement à Londres.



Je vais me diriger vers l'île quand

la fin de l'été,

Je vais faire tout ce que je peux,

boire comme un poisson dans une trombe -

Je suis fan du flux

cela a commencé il y a longtemps

Je suis un homme qui devrait savoir

ça ne s'arrête pas.



Il y a tellement de choses à retenir,

tant à oublier:

nous sommes tous en possession du

futur, mais je ne le sais pas encore.

La chair vient de l'esprit,

l'esprit à travers la chair ...

on regarde le Sphinx en face

pour des réponses et bien sûr nous sommes

vraiment pas impressionné.

Nous sommes pris entre l'âge et la beauté,

expérience et jeunesse

nous ressentons donc le besoin de façon aiguë \u003cbr />
pour tout type de vérité.



Oh mais nous sommes coupés quelques jours,

coincé entre les options que nous avons échoué \u003cbr />
à jouer, une telle chance perdue.

Alors je me joins à la danse des gaspilleurs:

il a un mouvement lent et rapide

et tout changement doit être un

amélioration de la simple fossilisation,

immobile.



J'ai une vocation stable pour

la zone tranquille,

Je ne peux pas attendre que la chanson soit chantée,

Je suis toujours possédé par la promesse

du dôme du plaisir



Tu es si jeune,

si vieux,

une telle traînée

à dire.



Tu es tellement ici, tellement parti,

si près, si mal,

si étrange, si fort
