I am a roving gambler, I gamble all around

Whenever I meet with a deck of cards I lay my money down.



I've gambled down in Washington, I've gambled over in Spain

I'm goin' down to Georgia to gamble my last game.



I had not been in Washington not many more weeks than three

Je suis un joueur itinérant, je joue tout autour

Chaque fois que je rencontre un jeu de cartes, je dépose mon argent.



J'ai joué à Washington, j'ai joué en Espagne

Je vais en Géorgie pour jouer mon dernier match.



Je n'avais pas été à Washington depuis plus de trois semaines

Quand je suis tombée amoureuse d'une jolie petite fille, elle est tombée amoureuse de moi.



Elle m'a emmené dans son salon, elle m'a refroidi avec son ventilateur

Elle chuchota à l'oreille de sa mère: "J'adore cet homme de jeu."

Pour quitter ta chère vieille mère, et avec un joueur aller? "
