PADDLE DOWN THE RAHWAY

1. The lanterns are hung from the boughs of the trees,

The colored lights dance in the soft summer breeze,

Late in the evening the fireworks begin,

When we reach Nomahegan Park



Chorus:

And we'll paddle down the Rahway,

Just me and you, in a rented canoe,

And we'll paddle down the Rahway,

'Til we reach Nomahegan Park



2. My brother plays trumpet in Cranford's brass band,

When they play the first waltz, will you give me your hand

And we'll dance in the grass, wet with warm evening dew,

When we reach Nomahegan Park.

3. The ducks share the water with floats made of flowers,

We'll chat with our friends through the long evening hours,

A picnic repast and a slow paddle home,

Les lumières colorées dansent dans la douce brise d'été,

Tard dans la soirée, les feux d'artifice commencent,

Lorsque nous atteignons le parc Nomahegan

Juste moi et toi, dans un canot loué,

Jusqu'à ce que nous atteignions le parc Nomahegan



2. Mon frère joue de la trompette dans la fanfare de Cranford,

Quand ils joueront la première valse, tu me donneras ta main

Et nous danserons dans l'herbe, humide de rosée chaude du soir,

Lorsque nous atteignons le parc Nomahegan.

3. Les canards partagent l'eau avec des flotteurs en fleurs,

Nous discuterons avec nos amis pendant les longues heures du soir,

Un repas de pique-nique et une maison de pagaie lente,

En amont du parc Nomahegan.
