Comme je suis allé doon à Strichen toon,

J'ai entendu un deuil de bonne femme de chambre,

Et elle se plaignait de l'air

Il y a aussi de bons poissons dans la mer

Comme toujours, il a été pris.

Je vais lancer ma ligne et je vais réessayer

Car je ne suis qu'abandonné.



Je vais donc aller à Strichen toon,

Où j'ai été élevé et né,

Et là, je trouverai un autre amoureux

M'épousera le matin
