LITTLE PIECE OF WANG





When the good Lord made Father Adam, they say he laughed and sang,

Sewed him up the belly with a little piece of wang.

But when he'd got finished, I guess he measured wrong,

For the piece he'd sewed him up with was very much too long.



"It's but eight inches long," he said, "I guess I'll let it hang,"

And he left on Adam's belly that little piece of wang.

But when he made mother Eve, I bet it made him start,

For the piece he sewed her up with was very much too short.



"It leaves an awful crack," said he, "but I don't give a dang,

She can fight it out with Adam for that little piece of wang";

And ever since that ancient day when human life began,

There's been a constant wage of strife between a woman and a man

For the woman swears to have that piece that on his belly hang,

To fill that awful crack that's left when the Lord ran out of wang.

So let us not be selfish, boys, with what the women lack,

But keep them busy on the wang to fill that crack,

For the good Lord never intended that it should idle hang

When he placed on Adam's belly that little piece of wang.

PETIT MORCEAU DE WANG





Quand le bon Dieu a fait le père Adam, ils disent qu'il a ri et chanté,

Lui cousu le ventre avec un petit morceau de wang.

Mais quand il eut fini, je suppose qu'il a mal mesuré,

Le morceau avec lequel il l'avait cousu était beaucoup trop long.



"Il ne fait que huit pouces de long", a-t-il dit, "je suppose que je vais le laisser pendre",

Et il a laissé sur le ventre d'Adam ce petit morceau de wang.

Mais quand il a fait mère Eve, je parie que ça l'a fait commencer,

Le morceau avec lequel il l'a cousue était beaucoup trop court.



"Ça laisse une terrible fissure", a-t-il dit, "mais je m'en fous,

Elle peut se battre avec Adam pour ce petit morceau de wang ";

Et depuis cet ancien jour où la vie humaine a commencé,

Il y a eu un salaire constant de conflits entre une femme et un homme

Pour que la femme jure d'avoir cette pièce sur son ventre,

Pour combler cette terrible fissure qui reste quand le Seigneur a manqué de wang.

Alors ne soyons pas égoïstes, les garçons, avec ce qui manque aux femmes,

Mais gardez-les occupés sur le wang pour combler cette fissure,

Car le bon Dieu n'a jamais voulu qu'il pende au ralenti

Quand il a placé sur le ventre d'Adam ce petit morceau de wang.
