THE HANDSOME CABIN BOY





It's of a pretty female as you will understand

Her mind was set on rambling into a foreign land

She dressed herself in man's attire and boldly did appear

And she engaged with a captain to serve him for a year.



The captain's lady being on board, she seemed in great joy

To think that the captain had engaged such a handsome cabin boy

And many's the time she cuddled and kissed, and she would have

liked to toy

But 'twas the captain found out the secret of the handsome cabin

boy



Her cheeks they were like roses, her hair was all a-curl

The sailors often smiled and said, he looks just like a girl

But eating the captain's biscuit, well, her color it did destroy

And the waist did swell of pretty Nell, the handsome cabin boy.

As through the Bay of Biscay our gallant ship did plough

One night among the sailors there came an awful row

They tumbled from their hammocks for their rest it did destroy

They complained about the groaning of the handsome cabin boy



It's doctor, dearest doctor, the cabin boy did cry

My time has come, I am undone, surely I must die

The doctor ran with all his might, a-smiling at the fun

For to think a cabin boy could have a daughter or a son



Now when the sailors heard the joke, they all began to stare

The child belongs to none of us, they solemnly did swear

And the lady to the captain said "My dear I wish you joy

For it was either you or I betrayed the handsome cabin boy."



Come all of you bold fellows and we'll drink success to trade

And likewise to the cabin boy who was neither man nor maid

And if the wars should rise again, us sailors to destroy

Well, here's hoping for a jolly lot more like the handsome cabin

boy.

C'est d'une jolie femelle comme vous l'aurez compris

Son esprit était déterminé à se promener dans un pays étranger

Elle s'est habillée en tenue d'homme et est apparue hardiment

Et elle s'est engagée avec un capitaine pour le servir pendant un an.



La dame du capitaine étant à bord, elle semblait très heureuse

Dire que le capitaine avait engagé un si beau garçon de cabine

Et la plupart du temps, elle se câlinait et s'embrassait, et elle aurait

a aimé jouer

Mais c'est le capitaine qui a découvert le secret de la belle cabine

Ses joues étaient comme des roses, ses cheveux étaient bouclés

Les marins souriaient souvent et disaient qu'il ressemblait à une fille

Mais en mangeant le biscuit du capitaine, eh bien, sa couleur a détruit

Et la taille a gonflé de la jolie Nell, le beau garçon de cabine.

Comme à travers le golfe de Gascogne, notre vaillant navire a labouré \u003cbr />
Une nuit parmi les marins, il y a eu une horrible dispute

Ils ont dégringolé de leurs hamacs pour leur repos, il a détruit

Ils se sont plaints des gémissements du beau garçon de cabine



C'est docteur, très cher docteur, le garçon de cabine a pleuré \u003cbr />
Mon heure est venue, je suis défaite, je dois sûrement mourir

Le médecin a couru de toutes ses forces, souriant à l'amusement

Car penser qu'un garçon de cabine pourrait avoir une fille ou un fils



Maintenant, quand les marins ont entendu la blague, ils ont tous commencé à regarder

L'enfant n'appartient à aucun de nous, ils ont juré solennellement

Et la dame au capitaine a dit "Mon cher je te souhaite de la joie

Car c'est toi ou j'ai trahi le beau garçon de cabine. "



Venez tous les gars audacieux et nous boirons le succès au commerce

Et de même pour le garçon de cabine qui n'était ni homme ni femme de chambre

Et si les guerres devaient recommencer, nous les marins à détruire

Eh bien, j'espère beaucoup plus comme la belle cabine

garçon.
