FOX HOLLOW SONG

The thunderheads were talking to the Berkshires down below

It was raining in Fox Hollow, but the people would not go

I came to these mountains to hear the people sing

And I won't go home this evening til I hear the last clear ring



We're over from the valleys, from the cities by the sea

To share these days of music with friends and family

There's every kind of instrument that I have ever seen

For every kind of music and dancing on the green



I've seen it bright with sunshine, I've seen the cool grey sky

But I've never heard the voices still or known a song to die

We know the world keeps turning while we are singing here

And we hope to be together in the summer time next year.

The Fox Hollow Festival of Traditional Music was the

brainchild of Bob (Fiddler) Beers. It ran for 15 years in the

60s and 70s on his farm in Petersburg NY. He died about five

years before the Festival did and it was never the same without

him.

Les thunderheads parlaient aux Berkshires en bas

Il pleuvait à Fox Hollow, mais les gens n'iraient pas

Je suis venu dans ces montagnes pour entendre les gens chanter

Et je ne rentrerai pas chez moi ce soir jusqu'à ce que j'entende la dernière sonnerie claire



Nous venons des vallées, des villes au bord de la mer

Pour partager ces jours de musique avec vos amis et votre famille

Il y a tous les types d'instruments que j'ai jamais vus

Pour tout type de musique et de danse sur le green



Je l'ai vu brillant de soleil, j'ai vu le ciel gris frais

Mais je n'ai encore jamais entendu les voix ou connu une chanson à mourir

Nous savons que le monde continue de tourner pendant que nous chantons ici

Et nous espérons être ensemble à l'heure d'été l'année prochaine.

Le Fox Hollow Festival of Traditional Music était le

idée originale de Bob (Fiddler) Beers. Il a fonctionné pendant 15 ans dans le

Années 60 et 70 sur sa ferme à Petersburg NY. Il est décédé environ cinq

ans avant le Festival et ce n'était jamais pareil sans

lui.
