A mother was bathing her baby one night

The youngest of ten, a pool little mite

The mother was fat and the baby was thin

Only a skellington wrapped up in skin.



The mother turned round for the soap from the rack

She weren't gone a minute, but when she got back

The baby was gone, and in anguish she cried

'Oh, where is my baby', the angels replied



Your baby has gone down the plug'ole

The poor little thing was so skinny and thin

He should have been bathed in a jug



Your baby is perfectly happy

He won't need no bathing no more

He's working his way through the sewers

Not lost, just gone before.

Une mère baignait son bébé une nuit

Le plus jeune de dix ans, un petit acarien de piscine

La mère était grosse et le bébé était mince

Seul un skellington enveloppé dans de la peau.



La mère s'est retournée pour récupérer le savon de la grille

Elle n'était pas partie une minute, mais quand elle est revenue

Le bébé était parti, et dans l'angoisse, elle pleurait

"Oh, où est mon bébé", ont répondu les anges



Votre bébé est descendu le plug'ole

Votre bébé a perdu la prise

La pauvre petite chose était si maigre et mince

Il aurait dû être baigné dans une cruche



Votre bébé est parfaitement heureux

Il n'aura plus besoin de se baigner

Il se fraye un chemin à travers les égouts

Pas perdu, juste disparu avant.
