[In the beginning there was a void, a big gap of darkness, filled with the
primal forces of creation. The heat of Muspel and the ice of Nifel made the
essence of life come forth from the void. The first living being, The Giant
Ymer, was born out of darkness and he is the ancestor of the creatures of the
universe. The world was formed from his slaughtered body. Ginnungagap is the
black hole from which everything came out and into which everything will return
in the end.]

[Le trou noir]

[Au début, il y avait un vide, un grand trou d'obscurité, rempli de
forces primitives de la création. La chaleur de Muspel et la glace de Nifel ont fait
l'essence de la vie sort du vide. Le premier être vivant, le géant
Ymer, est né de l'obscurité et il est l'ancêtre des créatures du
univers. Le monde s'est formé à partir de son corps abattu. Ginnungagap est le
trou noir d'où tout est sorti et dans lequel tout reviendra
à la fin.]
