God bless the grass that grows through the crack.

They roll the concrete over it to try and keep it back.

The concrete gets tired of what it has to do,

It breaks and it buckles and the grass grows thru,

And God bless the grass.



God bless the truth that fights toward the sun,

They roll the lies over it and think that it is done

It moves through the ground and reaches for the air,

And after a while it is growing everywhere,

And God bless the grass.



God bless the grass that breaks through cement,

It's green and its tender and it's easily bent,

But after a while it lifts up its head,

For the grass is living and the stone is dead.

And God bless the grass.



God bless the grass that's gentle and low

Its roots they are deep and its will is to grow.

And God bless the truth, the friend of the poor,

And the wild grass growing at the poor man's door,

Que Dieu bénisse l'herbe qui pousse à travers la fissure.

Ils roulent le béton dessus pour essayer de le retenir.

Le béton se fatigue de ce qu'il doit faire,

Il casse et il boucle et l'herbe pousse à travers,

Et que Dieu bénisse l'herbe.



Que Dieu bénisse la vérité qui se bat vers le soleil,

Ils roulent les mensonges dessus et pensent que c'est fait

Il se déplace à travers le sol et atteint l'air,

Et après un certain temps, il se développe partout,

Et que Dieu bénisse l'herbe.



Que Dieu bénisse l'herbe qui brise le ciment,

Il est vert et tendre et il se plie facilement,

Mais après un moment, il lève la tête,

Car l'herbe est vivante et la pierre est morte.

Et que Dieu bénisse l'herbe.



Que Dieu bénisse l'herbe douce et basse

Ses racines sont profondes et sa volonté est de grandir.

Et que Dieu bénisse la vérité, l'ami des pauvres,

Et l'herbe sauvage qui pousse à la porte du pauvre,

Et que Dieu bénisse l'herbe
