well we all go down

to our caverns underground

and in our backyard caves

we'd hear the sirens sound

and we took it very well

when then black rains fell

when the dust came down around us

we were safe and sound



it was baby needs shoes

the pta and barbeques

and it was two-handed touch

out on the white house lawn

and we were nobody's fools

fillin' in the swimming pools

we poured concrete and steel

when the neighbors had gone



now we all live here together

yes we all live here as one

now we all share the comforts of a hole in the ground

and we all remember livin' in the sun

here in the shelter



we heard nuclear freeze

we heard first-strike strategies

we heard how to pay the taxman

when the big one falls

we heard good guys and bad guys

we heard little lies and big lies

about who comes out the winners

and it's not that bad at all

when a madman gets a gun

he's gonna point it at someone

if it's up in texas tower

or over there across the pond

and if you step on his pride

or if he hurts somewhere inside

he might let one fly

when his nerves are gone



now we all live here together

nous descendons tous

dans nos cavernes souterraines

et dans nos grottes d'arrière-cour

nous entendions le son des sirènes

et nous l'avons très bien pris

quand les pluies noires sont tombées

quand la poussière est tombée autour de nous

nous étions sains et saufs



c'était bébé a besoin de chaussures

le pta et les barbecues

et c'était une touche à deux mains

sur la pelouse de la maison blanche

et nous n'étions des imbéciles de personne

faire le plein dans les piscines

nous avons coulé du béton et de l'acier

quand les voisins étaient partis



maintenant nous vivons tous ici ensemble

oui nous vivons tous ici comme un

maintenant nous partageons tous le confort d'un trou dans le sol

et nous nous souvenons tous d'avoir vécu au soleil

ici dans l'abri



nous avons entendu un gel nucléaire

nous avons entendu des stratégies de première frappe

nous avons entendu comment payer le contribuable

quand le gros tombe

nous avons entendu des bons et des méchants

nous avons entendu de petits mensonges et de gros mensonges

qui sort les gagnants

et ce n'est pas si mal du tout

quand un fou reçoit une arme

il va le pointer sur quelqu'un

si c'est dans la tour du texas

ou là-bas de l'autre côté de l'étang

et si vous marchez sur sa fierté \u003cbr />
ou s'il fait mal quelque part à l'intérieur

il pourrait laisser s'envoler

quand ses nerfs sont partis
