Walking down the jasmine corridor.



Reflecting echoes of quiet laughter.

Out on the headland I stepped once unsteady.

You there to catch me , I breathe more freely.

Hand in mine down the jasmine corridor.



Through all my life, I chased flitting illusions at a faster pace.

Never stopped to think: the moment was for seizing, had myself to face.

You made my bed to lie in, stately.

Mad cats, grandchildren, here more often lately.

De toute ma vie, je n'ai jamais connu personne comme toi auparavant.

Je me suis réveillé un jour, j'ai juré avoir entendu le bruit du ciel frapper à ma porte.

Et après toutes ces années qui se sont écoulées,

temps pour réfléchir, pas de temps à perdre.

En descendant le couloir de jasmin.



Reflétant des échos de rires tranquilles.



De toute ma vie, je n'ai jamais été aussi bien servi que je ne l'ai été par vous.

Et à ma façon, j'espère que vous êtes d'accord, j'ai essayé de vous servir aussi.

Tout au long de ma vie, j'ai chassé les illusions flottantes à un rythme plus rapide.

Je n'ai jamais cessé de penser: le moment était à saisir, il me fallait affronter.

Tu as fait mon lit pour me coucher, majestueux.

Chats fous, petits-enfants, ici plus souvent ces derniers temps.
