ALBERT'S REUNION

You've 'eard of young Albert Ramsbottom,

And Mrs. Ramsbottom, and Dad

And the trouble the poor lion went through

Trying to stomach the lad.

Well, after the lion disgorged him

Quite many a day 'ad gone by

But the lion just sat there and brooded

With a far away look in his eye.

The keepers could do nowt wi' lion

He seemed to be suffering pain.

He seemed to be fretting for something

And the curl all went out of his mane.

It looked at its food and ignored it

Just gazed far away into space.

When keepers tried forcible feeding

They got it all back in their face!

And at Mr. and Mrs. Ramsbottom's

The same kind of thing had begun

And though they tried all sorts of measures

They couldn't rouse Albert, their son.

Now Mr. Ramsbottom got fed up

At trying to please him in vain.

And said, " If you don't start to buck up

I'll take you to lion again!"

Now instead of the lad getting frightened

And starting to quake at the knees,

He seemed to be highly delighted

And shouted," Oh Dad! If you Please!"

His father thought he had gone potty.

His mother went nearly insane.

But Albert stood firm, and just bellowed,

"I want to see lion again!"

So Mr. and Mrs. Ramsbottom

Decided the best thing to do

Was to give way to Albert, and take him

Straight-a-way back to the Zoo.

The moment the lion saw Albert

For the first time for weeks it had stirred

It moved the left side of its whiskers

Then lay on its back and just purred.

And before anybody could stop him

Young Albert were stroking his paws.

And whilst the crowd screamed for the keepers

The little lad opened its jaws.

The crowd were completely dumfounded

His mother was out, to the wide,

But they knew, by the bumps and the bulges

That Albert was once more inside.

Then all of sudden, the lion

Stood up and let out a roar

And Albert, all smiling and happy,

Came out, with a thud, on the floor.

The crowd, by this time, were all cheering

And Albert stood there looking grand

With the stick with the horses-head handle

Clutched in his chubby young hand.

The lion grew so fond of Albert,

It couldn't be parted from lad.

And so zoological keepers

Sent round a note to his Dad:

We regret to say lion is worried

And pining for your little man

So sending you lion tomorrow

Arriving in plain covered van.

And if you should go 'round any evening

When Albert has gone off to rest

There's the lion, all tucked up beside him

Asleep, with 'is 'ead on his chest.

Vous avez l'oreille du jeune Albert Ramsbottom,

Et Mme Ramsbottom, et papa

Et le problème que le pauvre lion a traversé \u003cbr />
Essayer de digérer le garçon.

Eh bien, après que le lion l'ait dégorgé \u003cbr />
Plusieurs annonces par jour sont passées

Mais le lion était juste assis là et couvait

Avec un regard lointain dans les yeux.

Les gardiens ne pouvaient rien faire avec le lion

Il semblait souffrir.

Il semblait s'inquiéter pour quelque chose

Et la boucle est sortie de sa crinière.

Il a regardé sa nourriture et l'a ignoré \u003cbr />
Juste regardé au loin dans l'espace.

Quand les gardiens ont essayé de nourrir de force

Ils ont tout repris dans leur visage!

Et chez M. et Mme Ramsbottom

Le même genre de chose avait commencé \u003cbr />
Et bien qu'ils aient essayé toutes sortes de mesures

Ils n'ont pas pu réveiller Albert, leur fils.

Maintenant, M. Ramsbottom en avait marre

En essayant de lui plaire en vain.

Et il a dit: "Si vous ne commencez pas à vous battre

Je te ramène au lion! "

Maintenant, au lieu que le garçon ait peur

Et commence à trembler aux genoux,

Il semblait très heureux

Et a crié: "Oh papa! Si tu veux!"

Son père pensait qu'il était devenu pot.

Sa mère est devenue presque folle.

Mais Albert est resté ferme et a juste beuglé,

"Je veux revoir le lion!"

Alors M. et Mme Ramsbottom

Décidé la meilleure chose à faire

C'était de céder la place à Albert, et de le prendre

Retour directement au zoo.

Le moment où le lion a vu Albert

Pour la première fois depuis des semaines, il avait remué \u003cbr />
Il a déplacé le côté gauche de ses moustaches

Puis allongez-vous sur le dos et ronronnait juste.

Et avant que quiconque ne puisse l'arrêter

Le jeune Albert se caressait les pattes.

Et pendant que la foule criait pour les gardiens

Le petit garçon a ouvert ses mâchoires.

La foule était complètement abasourdie

Sa mère était dehors, au large,

Mais ils savaient, par les bosses et les renflements

Qu'Albert était de nouveau à l'intérieur.

Puis tout d'un coup, le lion

Se leva et poussa un rugissement

Et Albert, tout souriant et heureux,

Sorti, avec un bruit sourd, par terre.

La foule, à ce moment-là, applaudissait tous

Et Albert se tenait là, regardant grand

Avec le bâton avec la poignée tête de cheval

Serré dans sa jeune main potelée.

Le lion a tellement aimé Albert,

Il ne pouvait pas être séparé de mon garçon.

Et donc les gardiens zoologiques

Envoyé un mot à son père:

Nous avons le regret de dire que le lion est inquiet

Et languissant pour ton petit homme

Alors je t'envoie le lion demain

Arrivée en van couvert uni.

Et si tu devais faire le tour n'importe quel soir

Quand Albert est parti se reposer

Il y a le lion, tout replié à côté de lui

Endormi, avec 'est' ead sur sa poitrine.
