My Way

My friend, I'll say it clear,

I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.



I've lived a life that's full.

I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;

But more, much more than this,

I did it my way.



Regrets, I've had a few;

But then again, too few to mention.

I did what I had to do

And saw it through without exemption.



I planned each charted course;

Each careful step along the byway,

But more, much more than this,

I did it my way.



Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew

When I bit off more than I could chew.

But through it all, when there was doubt,

I ate it up and spit it out.

I faced it all and I stood tall;

And did it my way.



I've loved, I've laughed and cried.

I've had my fill; my share of losing.

And now, as tears subside,

I find it all so amusing.



To think I did all that;

And may I say - not in a shy way,

"No, oh no not me,

I did it my way".



For what is a man, what has he got?

If not himself, then he has naught.

To say the things he truly feels;

And not the words of one who kneels.

The record shows I took the blows -

And did it my way!

Mon chemin

Mon ami, je vais le dire clairement,

Je vais exposer mon cas, dont je suis certain.



J'ai vécu une vie pleine.

J'ai voyagé sur chaque autoroute;

Mais bien plus que ça,

Je l'ai fait à ma façon.



Regrets, j'en ai eu quelques-uns;

Mais là encore, trop peu pour être mentionné.

J'ai fait ce que je devais faire

Et je l'ai vu sans exception.



J'ai planifié chaque cours sur carte;

Chaque étape prudente le long de la route,

Mais bien plus que ça,

Je l'ai fait à ma façon.



Oui, il y avait des moments, je suis sûr que tu savais

Quand je mordais plus que je ne pouvais mâcher.

Mais à travers tout cela, quand il y avait un doute,

Je l'ai mangé et je l'ai recraché.

J'ai fait face à tout et je me suis tenu debout;

Et je l'ai fait à ma façon.



J'ai adoré, j'ai ri et pleuré.

J'ai été rassasié; ma part de perdre.

Et maintenant, alors que les larmes se calment,

Je trouve ça si amusant.



Dire que j'ai fait tout ça;

Et puis-je dire - pas de manière timide,

"Non, oh non pas moi,

Je l'ai fait à ma façon ".



Car qu'est-ce qu'un homme, qu'est-ce qu'il a?

Sinon lui-même, alors il n'a rien.

Pour dire ce qu'il ressent vraiment;

Et pas les mots de celui qui s'agenouille.

Le dossier montre que j'ai pris les coups -

Et je l'ai fait à ma façon!
