A SMALL BIRD OR TWO



Two maidens went milking one day (2x)

And the wind it did blow high

And the wind it did blow low

And it tossed their pails to and fro, la, la, la

And it tossed their pails to and fro



They met with a man they did know...

And they said, "have you the will?"

And they said, "Have you the skill

For to catch us a small bird or two..."



"Oh yes, I have an excellent good skill...

If you will come along with me

Under yonder flowering tree

I might catch you a small bird or two..."

So they went and they sat 'neath a tree

And the birds flew round about

Pretty birds flew round about

And he caught them by one and by two



Now my boys, let us drink down the sun

Now my boys let us drink down the moon

Take your lady to the wood

If you really think you should

You might catch her a small bird or two

Pour nous attraper un petit oiseau ou deux ... "



"Oh oui, j'ai une excellente compétence ...

Si vous venez avec moi

Sous cet arbre fleuri

Je pourrais vous attraper un petit oiseau ou deux ... "

Alors ils sont partis et ils se sont assis sous un arbre

Et les oiseaux ont volé autour de

De jolis oiseaux volaient autour de

Et il les a attrapés par un et par deux



Maintenant mes garçons, buvons au soleil

Maintenant mes garçons nous laissons boire sur la lune

Emmenez votre dame au bois

Si vous pensez vraiment que vous devriez

Vous pourriez lui attraper un petit oiseau ou deux
