In a country churchyard there's a preacher with his people

Gathered all around to join a man and woman,

Spring is here and turtle doves are singing from the steeple,

Bees are in the flowers, growing in the graveyard,

And over the hill, where the river meets the mill,

A lovely girl is coming down

To give her hand upon her wedding day.



Dressed in simple white and wearing flowers in her hair,

Music as she walks slowly to the altar,

And picking up his bible then the preacher turns towards her,

"will you take this man to be your wedded husband,

To honour and love in the eyes of god above,

Now let the peoble sing with me

These words to live forever in your heart...

Many years have fallen on that golden country morning,

The graveyard's overgrown, the church lies in ruins,

Ivy on the walls and ravens wheeling round above me

As i made my way towards the last remaining headstone,

I fell to my knees, read the lines beneath the leaves,

And suddenly it seemed to me

I heard the words like singing in the trees...

Dans un cimetière de campagne, il y a un prédicateur avec son peuple

Réunis tout autour pour rejoindre un homme et une femme,

Le printemps est là et les tourterelles chantent depuis le clocher,

Les abeilles sont dans les fleurs, poussant dans le cimetière,

Et au-dessus de la colline, où la rivière rencontre le moulin,

Une jolie fille descend

Pour lui donner la main le jour de son mariage.



Vêtue de blanc simple et portant des fleurs dans ses cheveux,

Musique en marchant lentement vers l'autel,

Et ramassant sa bible, le prédicateur se tourne vers elle,

"Prendras-tu cet homme pour être ton époux,

Pour honorer et aimer aux yeux de Dieu au-dessus,

Maintenant, laissez le peoble chanter avec moi

Ces mots pour vivre éternellement dans ton c?ur ...

De nombreuses années sont tombées sur cette matinée dorée de la campagne,

Le cimetière est envahi par la végétation, l'église est en ruine,

Lierre sur les murs et corbeaux tournant autour de moi

Alors que je me dirigeais vers la dernière pierre tombale restante,

Je suis tombé à genoux, j'ai lu les lignes sous les feuilles,

Et soudain, il m'a semblé \u003cbr />
J'ai entendu les mots comme chanter dans les arbres ...
