Byblos - Chicago

I saw her once before; she didn't turn me on.

One night she stopped to talk to pass the time.

And then I saw her eyes; her softly smiling glow,

We sat and talked all night at Byblos.

She talked of feelings that I knew were true.

She painted me a picture using ev'ry shade of blue

It was light with laughter, At times it made me cry,

And now I'll never know just why I didn't ever try to hold her;

to squeeze her; to kiss her all night long, I never tried to pleaseher.



Then, soon she had to go;

I sat there all alone

And thought of things she said

The whole day through.

And then I realized,

I never took the time

To find out where she lived

Or where to call.

I thought that I would see

Her the next night,

Anticipating how I'd set myself right.



Then, I went back to Byblos

I sat there and waited,

Feeling just a little nervous

And a little frustrated.



Then, soon, in she came,looking just the same

Oo, I could hardly wait to take her far from the game.

Then a person came in to the club

that I had to speak to

I explained the situation to her

And i thought she understood

But I guess she thought I was jiving her around

Cause when I looked for her, this is what I found

She was rapping with a real good friend of mine,

He was happening, I guess it was his time.

I really couldn't blame him, cause he was sad and lonely too.

But just talking to her did me so much good, I knew she'd do him good too.

Then I went home and I got it on,

Sat down to write these words when I was finally alone.

And then, about halfway through I wondered if someone knew

where she was, so I could give her a call,

And I found out that she was right down the hall,

Not too far away,

but that's ok, I'll just wait for the day when I can see

her again and spend some time

Je l'ai vue une fois auparavant; elle ne m'a pas excité.

Une nuit, elle s'est arrêtée pour parler pour passer le temps.

Et puis j'ai vu ses yeux; sa lueur doucement souriante,

Nous nous sommes assis et avons discuté toute la nuit à Byblos.

Elle a parlé de sentiments que je savais vrais.

Elle m'a peint une image en utilisant chaque nuance de bleu

C'était léger de rire, Parfois ça me faisait pleurer,

Et maintenant, je ne saurai jamais pourquoi je n'ai jamais essayé de la tenir;

la serrer; pour l'embrasser toute la nuit, je n'ai jamais essayé de lui plaire.



Puis, bientôt elle a dû partir;

Je me suis assis là tout seul

Et pensé aux choses qu'elle a dit

Toute la journée.

Et puis j'ai réalisé,

Je n'ai jamais pris le temps

Pour savoir où elle habitait

Ou où appeler.

Je pensais que je verrais

Elle le lendemain soir,

Anticiper la façon dont je me serais arrangé.



Ensuite, je suis retourné à Byblos

Je me suis assis là et j'ai attendu,

Se sentant juste un peu nerveux

Et un peu frustré.



Puis, bientôt, elle est venue, semblant la même

Oo, j'avais hâte de l'éloigner du jeu.

Puis une personne est entrée au club

à qui je devais parler

Je lui ai expliqué la situation

Et je pensais qu'elle comprenait

Mais je suppose qu'elle pensait que je la faisais sauter

Parce que quand je l'ai cherchée, c'est ce que j'ai trouvé \u003cbr />
Elle rappait avec un très bon ami à moi,

Il se passait, je suppose que c'était son heure.

Je ne pouvais vraiment pas lui en vouloir, car il était triste et solitaire aussi.

Mais juste lui parler m'a fait tellement de bien, je savais qu'elle lui ferait du bien aussi.

Ensuite, je suis rentré chez moi et j'ai réussi,

Je me suis assis pour écrire ces mots quand j'étais enfin seul.

Et puis, à mi-chemin, je me suis demandé si quelqu'un savait

où elle était, pour que je puisse l'appeler,

Et j'ai découvert qu'elle était juste dans le couloir,

Pas trop loin,

mais c'est ok, j'attendrai juste le jour où je pourrai voir

elle à nouveau et passer un peu de temps
