Me And The Elephants - Bobby Golodsboro

I remember one day we had nothin to do

so we went down to the city zoo

just to kill an hour or two

out in the good sunshine.



But we had so much fun we were glad that we came

we feed all the animals and gave each a name

we didnt even mind when it started to rain

we had a real good time.



But now that its over and youre far away

I miss you more with each passing day

all my friends sympathize and say

youll forget in time, yes you will, give yourself a little time.



But its already been well over a year

and just in case youre interested you might like to hear

how everybodys doin down at the city zoo, without you.



Well the Monkeys forgot you

the Hippo forgot you and so did the Kangaroo

but me and the Elephants we still remember you

me and the Elephants well never forget you.



So I wrote to Ann Landers and Dear Abbey too

and asked their advise as to what I should do

they said everything that reminds me of you

would all have to go.



So I burned all your pictures except two or three

the one by my bed and one on my TV

and the one that I always carry with me, every where I go



And today was so nice and since I was in town

I thought Id take the opportunity to go down

and see how everyone is down at the city zoo, and whats new



Well the Rino forgot you the Zebra forgot you

the Polar Bear and Tiger too.

But me and the Elephants we still remember you.

Me and the Elephants well never forget you.

Je me souviens qu'un jour nous n'avions rien à faire

nous sommes donc descendus au zoo de la ville

juste pour tuer une heure ou deux

sous le bon soleil.



Mais nous nous sommes tellement amusés que nous étions heureux d'être venus

nous nourrissons tous les animaux et leur avons donné un nom

cela ne nous a même pas dérangé quand il a commencé à pleuvoir

nous avons passé un très bon moment.



Mais maintenant que c'est fini et que tu es loin

Tu me manques de plus en plus chaque jour qui passe

tous mes amis sympathisent et disent

vous oublierez à temps, oui vous le ferez, donnez-vous un peu de temps.



Mais cela fait déjà plus d'un an

et juste au cas où vous seriez intéressé, vous aimeriez entendre

comment tout le monde se retrouve au zoo de la ville, sans vous.



Et bien les singes t'ont oublié \u003cbr />
l'hippopotame vous a oublié et le kangourou aussi

mais moi et les éléphants on se souvient encore de toi

moi et les éléphants ne vous oubliez jamais.



J'ai donc écrit à Ann Landers et à Dear Abbey aussi

et leur a demandé ce que je devais faire

ils ont dit tout ce qui me rappelle toi

devrait tous aller.



J'ai donc brûlé toutes vos photos sauf deux ou trois

celui près de mon lit et l'autre sur mon téléviseur

et celui que je porte toujours avec moi, partout où je vais



Et aujourd'hui a été si agréable et depuis que je suis en ville

Je pensais que j'en profitais pour descendre

et voyez comment tout le monde est au zoo de la ville, et quoi de neuf



Et bien le Rino t'a oublié le zèbre t'a oublié \u003cbr />
l'ours polaire et le tigre aussi.

Mais moi et les éléphants, nous nous souvenons encore de vous.
