The holly and the ivy,

When they are both full grown,

The holly bears the crown.

The playing of the merry organ,

The holly bears a blossom

As white as lily flower;

To be our sweet Savior.



The holly bears a berry

As red as any blood;

The holly bears a prickle

Le houx et le lierre,

Quand ils sont tous deux adultes,

De tous les arbres qui sont dans le bois,

Le houx porte la couronne.



O le lever du soleil,

Et la course du cerf,
