Still I push this boulder up this rocky hill
If I lose my footing this rock will kill
Perpetual dusk has me dimly lit
So I can't see the top or know how far it is
Now life is a constant and death is a beast
Everytime it's been fed its presence's increased
I feel its wings and its eyes bore my neck
This pressure has turned me into a wreck

It's a cold and a hollow and lonely life
I've seen anguish and anger, fear and strife
Now the darkness comes and it takes my pride
But I've learnt to face the darkness in my stride

And I've felt its teeth pierce through my neck and back
I've felt my skin rip and I've heard my bones crack
And if I have strength left we'll soon see
For the shadow of life has eaten me

Well now comfort and security leave stride by stride
If I could see some way out I'd thow away my pride
But I can't go back and my death lies ahead
And the end of this life feels me with dread

Je pousse toujours ce rocher sur cette colline rocheuse
Si je perds pied, ce rocher tuera
Le crépuscule perpétuel m'a faiblement éclairé
Je ne peux donc pas voir le sommet ni savoir à quelle distance
Maintenant, la vie est une constante et la mort est une bête
Chaque fois qu'il a été nourri, sa présence a augmenté
Je sens ses ailes et ses yeux porter mon cou
Cette pression m'a transformé en épave

C'est une vie froide et creuse et solitaire
J'ai vu l'angoisse et la colère, la peur et les conflits
Maintenant l'obscurité vient et ça prend ma fierté
Mais j'ai appris à affronter l'obscurité dans ma foulée

Et j'ai senti ses dents percer mon cou et mon dos
J'ai senti ma peau se déchirer et j'ai entendu mes os se fissurer
Et s'il me reste de la force, nous verrons bientôt
Car l'ombre de la vie m'a mangé

Eh bien maintenant, le confort et la sécurité partent pas à pas
Si je pouvais voir un moyen de sortir, je gâcherais ma fierté
Mais je ne peux pas revenir en arrière et ma mort est à venir
Et la fin de cette vie me fait peur
