Emerald" by Thin Lizzy



Down from the glen came the marching men

with their shields and their swords

To fight the fight they believed to be right

overthrow the overlords



To the towns where there was plenty

they brought plunder, swords and flame

When they left the town was empty

and children would never play again



from their graves I heard them falling

above the battle cry

By the bridge near the border

there were many born to die



Then onward, over the mountain

and outward towards the sea

They come to claim the Emerald

without it they could not leave

En bas du vallon sont venus les hommes en marche

avec leurs boucliers et leurs épées

Pour se battre, ils pensaient avoir raison

renverser les suzerains



Vers les villes où il y avait beaucoup

ils ont apporté du pillage, des épées et des flammes

Quand ils ont quitté la ville, c'était vide

et les enfants ne joueraient plus jamais



de leurs tombes, je les ai entendus tomber

au-dessus du cri de bataille

Près du pont près de la frontière

il y avait beaucoup de personnes nées pour mourir



Ensuite, au-dessus de la montagne

et vers la mer

Ils viennent réclamer l'émeraude

sans elle, ils ne pourraient pas partir
