Last night i saw it there, shining in the dark again,

The light that all men seem to fear,

They say that sailors were drowning in the bay,

And people kept away,

Waiting for the riches that a wreck would bring,

When the morning comes,

And on and on that light returns again,

To haunt the ones who would not hear the pain;



I took the old path down, climbing over rocks and stones,

The place i knew when i was young,

And in my fear i had to carry on,

Where no-one else had gone,

Looking in the heart of darkness from above,

To the man inside,

I took my chance and set off for the light,

And started the journey of my life;



And in the darkest hour that light was calling me,

Through the doorway to another world,

And there below me i saw all the days of my life,

Till the moment i stood on the shore,

Worlds away, this was my destiny,

To be back here in another time,

And all around me i saw the faces that i knew,

Reaching out, "there is nothing to fear,"

Worlds away,

Hier soir, je l'ai vu là-bas, brillant à nouveau dans le noir,

La lumière que tous les hommes semblent craindre,

Ils disent que des marins se noyaient dans la baie,

Et les gens tenus à l'écart,

En attendant les richesses qu'une épave apporterait,

Le matin venu,

Et encore et encore que la lumière revient à nouveau,

Pour hanter ceux qui n'entendraient pas la douleur;



J'ai pris l'ancien chemin en descendant, escaladant des rochers et des pierres,

L'endroit que je connaissais quand j'étais jeune,

Et dans ma peur, je devais continuer,

Où personne d'autre n'était allé,

En regardant au c?ur des ténèbres d'en haut,

Pour l'homme à l'intérieur,

J'ai tenté ma chance et je suis parti pour la lumière,

Et a commencé le voyage de ma vie;



Et à l'heure la plus sombre, cette lumière m'appelait,

Par la porte d'un autre monde,

Et là-dessous, j'ai vu tous les jours de ma vie,

Jusqu'au moment où je me tenais sur le rivage,

Mondes loin, c'était mon destin,

Pour être de retour ici dans un autre temps,

Et tout autour de moi, j'ai vu les visages que je connaissais,

Tendre la main, "il n'y a rien à craindre",

Mondes loin,
