"Walk Away Renee"



She said it was just a figment of speech

And I said you mean 'figure'

And she said no 'figment' because she could never imagine it happening

But it did

When we first met, I played the shy-boy

When she spoke to me for the first time, my nose began to bleed

She guessed the rest

The next day we went on a bus ride to the ferry

And when nobody came to collect our fares, why I knew then this was

something special

I couldn't stop thinking about her

And everytime I switched on the radio, there was somebody else singing

a song about the two of us

It was just like being on a fast ride at Fun Fair- the sort you want to get off

because it's scary and then, as soon as you're off again, you want to

get straight back on again

But oh love is strange

And you have to learn to take the crunchy with the smooth I suppose

She began going out with Mr. Potato Head

It was when I saw her in the car park with his coat around her shoulders

I realized

I went home and thought about the two of them together until the bath

water went cold around me

I thought about her eyes and the curve of her breasts and about the point

where their bodies met

I confronted her about it

I said 'I'm the most illegible bachelor in town'

And she said 'Yea, that's why I can never understand any of those silly

letters you send me'

And then one day it happened

She cut her hair

And I stopped loving her

Elle a dit que ce n'était qu'un fruit du discours

Et j'ai dit que tu veux dire "figure"

Et elle a dit pas de "figment" parce qu'elle ne pouvait jamais imaginer que cela se produise

Mais il l'a fait

Lors de notre première rencontre, j'ai joué le timide-garçon

Quand elle m'a parlé pour la première fois, mon nez a commencé à saigner

Elle a deviné le reste

Le lendemain, nous sommes allés en bus jusqu'au ferry

Et quand personne n'est venu chercher nos tarifs, pourquoi je savais alors que c'était

quelque chose de spécial

Je ne pouvais pas m'arrêter de penser à elle

Et chaque fois que j'allumais la radio, il y avait quelqu'un d'autre qui chantait

une chanson sur nous deux

C'était comme être sur un trajet rapide à Fun Fair - le genre que vous voulez descendre

parce que ça fait peur et puis, dès que vous repartez, vous voulez

reprendre tout de suite

Mais oh l'amour est étrange

Et vous devez apprendre à prendre le croquant avec le smooth je suppose

Elle a commencé à sortir avec M. Potato Head

C'est quand je l'ai vue dans le parking avec son manteau autour des épaules

J'ai réalisé \u003cbr />
Je suis rentré chez moi et j'ai pensé à eux deux ensemble jusqu'au bain

l'eau s'est refroidie autour de moi

J'ai pensé à ses yeux et à la courbe de ses seins et au point

où leurs corps se sont rencontrés

Je l'ai confrontée à ce sujet

J'ai dit: "Je suis le célibataire le plus illisible de la ville"

Et elle a dit 'Oui, c'est pourquoi je ne peux jamais comprendre aucun de ces idiots

lettres que vous m'envoyez '

Et puis un jour c'est arrivé \u003cbr />
Elle a coupé ses cheveux

Et j'ai cessé de l'aimer
