I Love You - Bing Crosby

I LOVE YOU

Bing Crosby

(Cole Porter)

- Although he was said to dislike demonstrative lyrics that said "I love

you," Bing recorded two different songs in 1944 with the title "I Love

You." The Cole Porter version, recorded by Bing Feb. 11, proved to be one

of his six recordings to top the Billboard charts in 1944. This amazing

accomplishing was unequalled until the Beatles invaded America and charted

six No. 1 hits in 1964. That year the Beatles topped the Billboard charts

for 20 weeks. Bing's recordings topped the Billboard charts in 1944 for 30

weeks.

I love you

Hums the April breeze.

I love you

Echo the hills.

I love you

The golden dawn agrees

As once more she sees

Daffodils.

It's spring again

And birds on the wing again

Start to sing again

The old melody.

I love you,

That's the song of songs

And it all belongs

To you and me.

It's spring again

And birds on the wing again

Start to sing again

The old melody.

I love you,

That's the song of songs

And it all belongs

To you and me.
